Yes, May is here already and it’s a busy month from start to finish. And very important to our fundraising efforts to support our kids.
On Sunday, May 4 the Fair Lawn Rotary Club will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser to benefit the Instrumental Music Program and Marching Band & Color Guard. Breakfast will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the high school. Tickets are $6.
Also on Sunday, several Orchestra students will perform at the public library’s 75th anniversary celebration from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. under the direction of Ms. Lucas.
Our big fundraiser, Spring Tag Days, are May 8-11. Students who tag twice during the year are entitled to attend the end of year Music Program dinner banquet free of charge. Tag Days are our most successful fundraiser and a great opportunity to be out in the community, don’t let them pass by!
FOM monthly meeting is Tuesday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. This month’s after-school bake sale is Thursday, May 15.
Our Spring Clothing Drive is Saturday, May 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the front entrance of the high school on Berdan Avenue.
Twice the fun! Two Spring concerts! Under the direction of Mr. Paul
Kafer & Ms. Alison Lucas, the FLHS Instrumental Music students perform their Spring concerts! On Thursday, May 15th at 7:30 pm the Wind Ensemble, String Orchestra, Chamber Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble will be performing. And on Wednesday, May 26th at 7:30 PM, it’s time for the Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble! Admission is free! Come and enjoy the music!!
Our last fundraiser of the year, Balloons in June, is also taking off! Balloon-gram forms are starting to 'float' in.
